<image:caption>Existing public spaces such as the Dead Horse Bay (aka Bottle Beach) exposed by rising tides are compelling storytelling opportunities of an impending future pervaded by waste. The world generously offers a smorgasbord of storytelling opportunities for societal critique and reflection.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The speculative film and collection of artifacts were chosen for exhibition as the top Speculative Design studio project. The exhibition, How Things Don’t Work: The Dreamspace of Victor Papanek, juxtaposed materials reflecting the life and creations of Papanek (1923-1998) with work from emerging designers from Vienna, London and New York City. Papanek is recognized one of the earliest advocates of socially and ecologically responsible design.</image:caption>
